Year Two Weekly Blog 21st September
Date: 21st Sep 2018 @ 3:56pm
It's been a surprising week in Year Two. We arrived on Monday morning to find that all our chairs had disappeared! We received a letter explaining that our chairs were quitting as they were so fed up of being sat on (and worse) all day every day! We wrote letters back to them persuading them to return -luckily they have.
In maths we have been using our knowledge of place value to reason and solve problems. We have continued learning about materials in science, specifically the suitability of materials for certain jobs and in Geography each class has worked together to make a large 3D map of our city.
Next week we will be beginning to read the story Dogger by Shirley Hughes and then using expanded noun phrases in our writing to describe our own special cuddly toys. In maths we will use < , > and = symbols to compare and order numbers. We will also begin our history topic about Liverpool during WWII and explore different artefacts such as ration books, newspaper articles, photographs and letters from children evacuated from Liverpool.
