Year Two Weekly Blog 12th October

This week we have read, retold and written the story Amazing Grace. We have had a grammar focus on verbs and looked at changing verbs into the past tense. In maths we have continued with addition and subtraction and practised using the inverse operation to check calculations. We had a fantastic afternoon of art, exploring different media and enjoyed using the iPads in history to help us with our research about World War II.

Next week we will read another story with a familiar setting, Peace at Last, and retell this using conjunctions to join our sentences. In maths we will use our number bonds to ten to helps us with bonds to one hundred and will learn to recall these at speed. We will use the 'pod' to help us imagine what life would have been like for children during an air raid and we will write diary extracts based on this. We will also find out more about evacuation and rationing.
