Year 5 Blog Week ending 19th October

This week in Year 5, we have been working extremely hard and enjoying the following activities: -
- Maths – Negative numbers and assessments.
- English – Work linked to The Windrush Generation.
- History - Black History Week
- Art – Black History Week and work linked to The Windrush Generation.
- P.E - developing athletics skills
- Harvest festival – watching Year 4’s production.
Again, another amazing week we have had. We were extremely impressed with the children’s work, especially their work on The Windrush Generation. The children produced some fantastic piece of work ranging from poetry to collages. We have produced a wonderful display for you to view on Parents’ evening.
We cannot wait until the week after next where we will be enjoying the following lessons: -
- Maths – Addition.
- English – Work linked to The Wizard of Oz.
- Cold Write – To write a legend.
- Geography – Where do we live?
- Jigsaw – To understand how democracy and having a voice benefits the school community and know how to participate in this.
- R.E - To compare the different ways Sikhs put their religion into practice.
- Science – Phases of the Moon. Waxing and Waning.
- P.E - developing athletics skills

Can you ensure that you listen to your child read at least 3 times a week.
