Year 5 blog - week ending 25th January 2015

This week in Year 5, we have been working extremely hard and enjoying the following activities: -
- Maths – Multiplication 4 digits by 2 digits
- English – Recounts – Philippe Petit (tightrope walker)
- History – Viking settlements (diary extract)
- Science – Forces. Air resistance
- P.E – Invasion games
- R.E. – Looking at Hinduism
- Swimming – Developing confidence and water skills
- Music and ICT
Again, another fantastic week we have had. We were extremely impressed with the children’s work. What an enjoyable disco – DJ McOnesie with the banging tunes. A huge thank you to both the PTA and all the staff who attended.
We cannot wait until next week where we will be enjoying the following lessons:
- Division – Multiplication 4 digits by 1 digits with remainders
- English – Recounts – Philippe Petit (tightrope walker) and diary entries
- History – Viking settlements – Where did the Vikings settle?
- Science – Forces. Air resistance (parachute investigation)
- P.E – Invasion games
- R.E. – Looking at Hinduism
- Swimming – Developing confidence and water skills
- Music and ICT
