Year 5 blog - week ending 22nd March 2019

This week in Year 5, we have been working extremely hard and enjoying the following activities: -
- Maths – World Maths Day – investigations and problem solving activities
- English – Focusing on ‘How to live forever’. Persuasive writing.
- Jigsaw – Making choices (alcohol).
- P.E – Football
- Swimming – Developing confidence and water skills
- Music and ICT
- Play – Shakespeare Rocks rehearsals
Again, another superb week we have had. What an enjoyable Maths Day. It was so good hearing all the maths talk. Keep up the hard work.
We cannot wait until next week where we will be enjoying the following lessons:
- Maths – Addition and subtraction of fractions
- Maths of the day – fraction focus
- English – Focusing on grammar and punctuation
- P.E – Football
- Geography – Where does my fruit salad come from?
- Geography - Clothes can be produced fairly and sustainably
- Swimming – Developing confidence and water skills
- Music and ICT
- Play – Shakespeare Rocks rehearsals
- Creative challenges - maths

Please ensure that you listen to your child read at least 3 times a week.
Please make sure that your child brings in their reading book and record card every day.

Don’t forget to complete the fun maths games booklets that we sent out last term.
Creative challenges are due in on Friday 29th March. This year’s focus is on maths. Enjoy!
