Year 5 blog - week ending 1st February 2019

This week in Year 5, we have been working extremely hard and enjoying the following activities: -
- Division – Multiplication 4 digits by 1 digits with remainders
- English – Recounts – Philippe Petit (tightrope walker) and diary entries
- History – Viking settlements – Where did the Vikings settle?
- Science – Forces. Air resistance (parachute investigation)
- P.E – Invasion games
- Swimming – Developing confidence and water skills
- Music and ICT
Again, another superb week we have had.
We cannot wait until next week where we will be enjoying the following lessons:
- Maths – Equivalent fractions and looking at life skills with Barclays bank
- English – Recounts – Sector 7. An unusual school trip.
- Art – Viking Long ships – shields and figure head designs.
- Science – Forces. Streamlining.
- P.E – Invasion games
- Swimming – Developing confidence and water skills
- Music and ICT

Please ensure that you listen to your child read at least 3 times a week.
Please make sure that your child brings in their reading book and record card every day.
