Year 5 blog - week ending 18th January 2019

This week in Year 5, we have been working extremely hard and enjoying the following activities: -
- Maths – Area of rectangles and compound shapes.
- English – Recounts – Biography of John Lennon.
- History – Timeline
- Science – Forces. Understanding what makes things move.
- P.E – Invasion games
- Jigsaw – Dreams and goals. Looking at jobs.
- Swimming – Developing confidence and water skills
- Music and ICT
Again, another superb week we have had. We were extremely impressed with the children’s work. A huge thank you to Dave Bedford for his fantastic talk about John Lennon. The children loved it!! So informative.
It really helped with their writing on the Friday.
We cannot wait until next week where we will be enjoying the following lessons:
- Maths – Multiplication 4 digits by 2 digits
- English – Recounts – Philippe Petit (tightrope walker)
- History – Viking settlements (diary extract)
- Science – Forces. Air resistance
- P.E – Invasion games
- R.E. – Looking at Hinduism
- Swimming – Developing confidence and water skills
- Music and ICT

Please make sure that your child brings in their reading book and record card every day.
