Year 5 blog - week ending 14th December

This week in Year 5, we have been working extremely hard and enjoying the following activities: -

• Maths – Squared, cubed and Prime numbers.  
• English – SPAG focus.  
• Assessments – Reading, spelling and SPAG tests
• D.T – Investigating and designing bird hides
• P.E – Basketball
• Music and ICT

Again, another amazing week we have had. We were extremely impressed with the children’s work. Our bird hides are progressing really. Some amazing designs.

We cannot wait until next week where we will be enjoying the following lessons:

• English – SPAG Christmas problems  
• D.T – Investigating and designing bird hides
• P.E – Basketball
• Music and ICT
• R.E – Is the Christmas story true?
• Art – Peter Thorpe Rocket designs
• Dragon’s Den activities linked with bird hides
• Calendars
• Christmas Party afternoon (Tuesday)

Please ensure that you listen to your child read at least 3 times a week.

Please make sure that your child brings in their reading book and record card every day.
