Studying geography should inspire in pupils a curiosity and fascination about the world and its people that will remain with them for the rest of their lives. We aim to equip pupils with knowledge about diverse places, people, resources and natural and human environments, together with a deep understanding of the Earth’s key physical and human processes. As our pupils progress, their growing knowledge about the world will help them to deepen their understanding of the interaction between physical and human processes, and of the formation and use of landscapes and environments.
At Dovedale, we are geographers! We want our children to love geography and grow up wanting to be cartographers, town planners, conservationists or weather forecasters. If our pupils imagine and believe, they will achieve! The geography curriculum has been carefully crafted so that our children develop their geographical capital. We want our children to remember their geography lessons in our school and embrace the geographic opportunities they are presented with.
