This week in Year 5, we have been working extremely hard and enjoying the following activities: -
- Maths – place value and rounding numbers up to 10,000
- English - continuing to explore Beowulf and writing problem page letters
- Science - using iPads to create planet fact files
- History - looking at Vortigern and deciding whether he was a strong king or a soft touch
- French - looking at healthy food
- Jigsaw - what make a citizen
- P.E - developing athletics skills
What a fantastic week we had. We were extremely impressed with the children’s work. We cannot wait until next week where we will be enjoying the following lessons: -
- Maths – rounding numbers up to 1,000,000
- English - continuing to explore Beowulf and writing our own version of the legend
- Science – writing a diary entry, describing a new planet, including scientific language
- History - looking at artefacts and making decisions based on them
- Art – investigating the artist Peter Thorpe
- P.E - developing athletics skills
