Weekly Y4 blog 11.01.19

Date: 11th Jan 2019 @ 1:45pm

Welcome back! We hope you all had a lovely break.

This week in year 4, the children have all been working really hard. 4T and 4P had a special visitor in (a local Artist called Becky.) The children were making sculptures of teeth, linking in with their new Science topic 'Animals Incuding Humans.' Becky showed the children how to create teeth sculptures using paper and tape and they found out how to manipulate the materials using a variety of techniques. Check out our Twitter feed for photographs of the day. 4BN will be having their 'Art day' next week! :-)

In Maths, we have all been looking at dividing numbers by 10 and 100, using place value grids to help. Mathletics homework is always up and running and is linked to what we are doing in school. In English, the children have been looking at 'Stories from Other Cultures.' We have been reading the book called 'Gregory Cool' and the children enjoyed making predictions about the text, just based on pictures from the story. In our Friday write, the children had a go at writing a setting description of a beach in the Caribbean! Some of the ideas were fabulous.

We hope you have all enjoyed your first week of 2019 in Year 4! Here is to another great term. :-)

Thank you for your continued support...
