A lovely week this week!

In our Maths lessons, we have been getting to grips with our written methods of calculations, concentrating on subtraction with exchanges. The children have all done really well. They have tackled lots of tricky reasoning problems and had lots of chances to discuss their own methods. Mathletics homework has been updated this week, the children may need to use a piece of scrap paper to work out the subtraction calculations before inputting their answers into the iPad / computer.

In our English lessons, we have been learning about direct and reported speech. The children should all now be familiar with when to use inverted commas. We have also banned the word 'SAID' from our classrooms! For our Friday write, the children pretended they were reporters for the Liverpool Echo and were reporting on fireworks that mysteriously disappeared. Lots of fabulous writing was produced!

In preparation for Remembrance Day this weekend, we had a lovely lesson making poppies out of recycled plastic bottles. Pictures are on our Twitter feed. @DovedaleY4.

Thank you for all of the positive feedback we had on Parents' Evening.

Have a lovely weekend.
